Mrs. Kochmann is a third-generation teacher with a passion for social justice and closing the achievement gap. She graduated from Occidental College in Eagle Rock, California where she majored in French Literary Studies and minored in Psychology. During this time she had the opportunity to study abroad for a year in Paris, France, where she became fluent in French. After graduating, she joined the 2012 Teach for America corps and taught third grade in Phoenix, Arizona while pursuing her Master’s degree in Elementary Education from Arizona State University. Mrs. Kochmann joined the Equitas Academy team in 2014 as a second grade teacher. She instantly loved the welcoming environment of Equitas and the demanding, yet rewarding work of pursuing educational equality. Outside of the classroom, her other passions include musical theater, cooking, sewing, and her dachshund, Chloe. Mrs. Kochmann is excited to serve as the school director of the flagship site and work with scholars and families on their path to college and beyond.
