Ms. Rodas was born in Guatemala and immigrated to Los Angeles, CA when she was 4 years old. She was an ESL (English as a Second Language) student through middle school and understands the challenges that scholars face when English is not their primary language. Ms. Rodas’ educators encouraged her to show perseverance and pursue higher education. She was thrilled when she was accepted into California State University, Northridge (CSUN), where she majored in Child Development with a minor in Psychology. Ms. Rodas has volunteered in programs that have been focused on children and education such as MEND (Meet Each Need with Dignity) and Padres Contra el Cancer. She began her work at Equitas in 2015 where she was an After School Program Leader at EQ #2. She transitioned into the role of Instructional Aide in 2016 at Equitas Flagship and this will be her second year there. She is excited to continue working with our scholars and strive towards our mission of 100% college graduation.
