Mrs. Rose’s passion for education started at an early age as she observed and absorbed an unwavering commitment to education from family members, former teachers and administrators. She volunteered throughout her youth in after school programs and summer camps. Mrs. Rose attended Howard University, graduating with a Bachelor of Arts in Public Relations. While living in Washington D.C., Mrs. Rose continued her efforts to uplift youth through education by tutoring inner city students and working with a national literacy program. Her focus sharpened upon moving back to the Los Angeles area where Mrs. Rose served for almost 10 years in various roles as an instructional aide, a substitute teacher, director of a girls’ summer sports camps, and a volunteer basketball coach. When she entered the world of After School, Mrs. Rose feel in love instantly, truly enjoying the possibilities of extended learning through hands on activities and a warm environment. Mrs. Rose quickly advanced into the role of After School Site Lead, where she revamped and revitalized her program. She believes that all students deserve a chance to succeed with the best accommodations to do so. Mrs. Rose is excited to join Equitas Academy to assist in providing these resources to all scholars. She hopes to extend her expertise soon by obtaining a Master’s Degree in Education. During her free time, Mrs. Rose enjoys attending sporting and music events, and expressing her creative side through crafting and home DIY projects.
