Ms. Golterman spent her childhood in St. Louis, Missouri. She earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in K-12 Art Education from the University of Arkansas in 2016 and moved to Los Angeles shortly after to pursue her passions for painting and teaching. While working toward her degree at the University Ms. Golterman completed additional studies in teaching art to adults with special needs and was a Mentor for the Big Brothers Big Sisters Program of Northwest Arkansas. Her Little Sister match inspired her to work with the elementary and middle school age groups after she graduated. During her first year in Los Angeles she gained classroom experience as a substitute teacher in schools all over the city. Her belief in educational equality, creating a culture of error and helping every student reach their full potential in a safe and supportive environment brought her to Equitas Academy. She firmly believes that with the right support, every scholar has what it takes to be a successful college graduate. She is so excited to join the Equitas Academy team this year as an Instructional Aide and to meet the incoming college-bound scholars! In her free time, Ms. Golterman makes paintings and explores hiking and backpacking trails around Southern California.
