Esteban Guardado is an Instructional Assistant at Equitas Academy. Mr. Guardado worked with students across Los Angeles since 2010, taking on various roles such as playground coach, after-school tutor, as well as a Special Education Instructional Assistant. He has spent his career learning about the needs of students across the city, and learned about the various forms of educational inequality that exist throughout. He earned his Bachelor of Arts from University of California, Los Angeles, where he learned about the power of education, and the role it played in social mobility and social justice. Here, he decided to pursue education as a career, with the intention of positively impacting the lives of students and their communities by helping students gain access to a college education. Currently, he is attaining his Education Specialist Credential from California State University, Los Angeles. Mr. Guardado is an avid fan of soccer, guitar, as well as spending time exploring the endlessness of Los Angeles. Every year, he looks forward to getting to know his scholars and helping them achieve their goals in their college-bound careers.
